Our Patron St. Vincent de Paul

"You will find out that charity is a heavy burden to carry, heavier than the bowl of soup and the full basket. But you will keep your gentleness and your smile. It is not enough to give bread and soup. This the rich can do. You are the servant of the poor...they are your masters, and the more demanding they are, the more unjust and insulting, the more love you must give them. It is for your love alone that the poor will forgive you (for) the bread you give them.
SVDP Thrift Store Programs
THe SVDP North Broward District Council operates two Thrift Stores for the benefit of the community and clients alike. The Thrift Stores play an important role in providing assistance to those in need.  Through a staff of employees and volunteers, we work to collect, evaluate and merchandise a variety of donated goods. This merchandise provides a low cost shopping alternative of quality goods to low income individuals and families. Those who cannot afford the clothing, furniture, appliances, and other household items are provided for, free of charge, through a Vincention Referral System.
Serving Christ;'s needy is the first purpose of all St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores. To insure long-term continuity of our stores, sound business practices are utilized. Surplus funds from stores' operations are used to assist the Society by offsetting the expenses of other programs of assistance provided by the North Broward District Council. Contact our main Thrift Store at 2323 North Dixie Hway in Pompano Beach or call (954) 942-2242.
